40 Block Circle Generator

A 40 block circle is a serious footprint. The arcs are long and gentle, which means the row instructions matter more than your eye does — a single misplaced block in a 6 long run is visible from a distance.

Block counts for a 40 block circle

  • Hollow outline (1 block wall): 140 blocks
  • Filled disc: 1,264 blocks
  • Widest row: 40 blocks
  • Center: a 2x2 center square

Building advice for this size

  • Break the ring into four quadrants and build them one at a time, checking each against the blueprint before moving on.
  • Reserve about two and a quarter stacks of blocks for a 1 thick ring, and around nine stacks for a 3 thick wall.
  • Place a temporary line of blocks across the diameter while building so you can confirm both halves match.
  • This size works well as the base of a dome roughly 20 blocks tall, or as the outer wall of a two-storey round hall.
