Minecraft server hosting for big builds
Building a cathedral, a megabase or a whole town is far quicker with friends. Here is what a server actually needs to keep a large build running smoothly.

What matters for large builds
- RAM — big builds keep many chunks loaded at once. Under-sized RAM shows up as stuttering when players fly around the site.
- NVMe or SSD storage — world saves on a spinning disk cause periodic freezes on a heavily edited world.
- Server location — pick the region closest to most of your builders; ping matters more than raw CPU speed for placing blocks.
- Backups — one careless fill command can erase a week of work. Daily automatic backups you can restore yourself are worth more than any other feature.
Free versus paid
Free plans are genuinely useful for testing a blueprint at scale before committing to it. They are usually limited to 1–2 GB of RAM and hibernate when nobody is online, so a long group session on a large world will lag. If you plan to keep the world for months, a small paid plan is the cheaper choice in time saved.
Before you build
- Pick the blueprint and note its total block count from the build summary.

- Set a world spawn near the site so nobody wastes time travelling.
- Print or share the blueprint link so every builder works from the same plan.
