How the circle blueprint is calculated
Minecraft has no curves — only cubes. A circle blueprint is really a decision for every cell in a square grid: is this cell inside the circle or outside it? CraftShape answers that by testing the center of each cell against the circle boundary. Cells whose centers fall inside are placed; cells whose centers fall outside are left empty.
That single rule is what keeps the result symmetrical. Because the test is measured from the exact middle of the shape, the left half always mirrors the right half and the top always mirrors the bottom — for odd and even diameters alike. The summary panel runs that symmetry check on the finished grid and reports the result.
Hollow circles and wall thickness
A hollow circle is the area between two circles: the diameter you asked for, and a smaller one shrunk by your wall thickness. Every cell inside the outer circle but outside the inner one becomes a block. This is why a thicker wall never leaves gaps in the curve — the band is always continuous.
Building it in game
- Flatten the area first. Uneven ground is the most common reason a circle looks wrong.
- Place the widest row and the widest column first, then fill the four arcs between them.
- Use mirror mode to build one quadrant and copy it — checking a quarter of the shape is much faster than checking all of it.
- Stack the same ring for every layer of height to turn a circle into a tower.
